Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. I've been struggling to find time for both job, Hervor and private life, you know how things can get. I still try to answer all notes I get and reply to comments, so don't be afraid to write me
I did a post like this some years ago but I had so many new friends here so I decided to do another one. For you guys who has been with me for some time some of these songs might already be familiar.
Brilliant song by a very talented group. Already a classic among viking reenactors.
Per O G Runberg
A very talented and skilled musician and lecturer that our group have had the pleasure of listening to many times. For those of you guys who use spotify you can find him there. Per is playing an old traditional instrument called "tagelharpa" which is basically a harp stringed with horse hair. Findings of parts of this kind of harp (mostly the bridge) has been found on several locations in Scandinavia. We don't know for sure that the harp was used with a bow but it seems reasonable to amuse that it might have. It's a wonderful instrument. This song is called "Björndansen", "The dance of the bear"
Although this is based on a traditional folk song it is not really a viking song. I still think it has the right mood to it.
Let me know what you guys think
